5 Reasons to Dine Out During Restaurant Week

Eight restaurants join the lineup for the inaugural Halifax County Restaurant Week, an eight-day event of special menus and discounts at participating locations. Here are five good reasons to check it out--not including an opportunity to sample the best that local restaurants have to offer in the form of three-course meals priced at $10 and $20 at participating restaurants.

Need another reason to dine out this week? Here are five. Be sure to let us know where you go and how you liked it using #HalifaxRW on Facebook and Instagram. You can find more information on Restaurant Week at HalifaxCountyRestaurantWeek.com

Plated Food

1. Hit a Local Favorite

If you've never been to Oak Tree Tavern, Bistro 1888, or Molasses Grill, now is your chance. All are fine dining restaurants, so make a night of it and enjoy a special meal that won't break the bank.

2. Expand Your Horizons

Take this opportunity to try something new. The menus are varied and include dishes from the comfort favorites to the exotic. Be adventurous and treat your taste buds.

3. Take the Kids

Restaurant Week isn't just for date night. There are kid-friendly participating restaurants where parents can enjoy a great meal, and kids will be happy diving into a children's menu. Check out Italian Delight or Spare Times Grill or Darby's Tavern.

4. Rise and Shine

We're serving breakfast during Restaurant Week. Do you need the motivation to get up early during the week, then head to The Packhouse or Southern Plenty for a $10 breakfast deal.

5. Ladies Night

If your significant other isn't interested in a three-course meal (or someone needs to stay home to watch the kids), grab a friend or two and take advantage of the long meal to connect.
