Nothing is more tried and true than a date over dinner. For a fine dining experience, try the award-winning Molasses Grill, which serves Southern inspired cuisine. The menu offers a few staples, The atmosphere, coupled with outstanding service and delicious food are sure to amaze you and your date. Similarly, The Mansion Restaurant at Berry Hill Resort is sure to impress. Housed within the historic Berry Hill mansion, diners will enjoy the pleasant ambiance and views of the estate while eating upscale dishes with a southern influence. Those looking for something a bit more casual may opt for Darby’s Tavern, also at the Berry Hill resort, which serves sandwiches and American dinners in a more relaxed, pub style atmosphere. Craving a night in? Order take out from these and other local restaurants for an intimate dinner for two.

Go Out for Drinks

Whether you’re trying to calm your nerves for your first outing as a couple, or celebrating an anniversary over a drink, these locations are perfect for dates. Whiskey lovers will enjoy sampling spirits and sipping cocktails at Springfield Distillery. Couples can learn more about the process by booking a tour ahead of the visit. Are you more of an oenophile? Halifax County has two vineyards for enthusiasts to sample. The Barn at Hunting Creek Vineyards offers plenty of space for couples to share private conversations while doing a wine tasting and viewing the surrounding countryside. Bright Meadows Farms is located on a 19th century farm, for couples who prefer a more rustic and home-like feeling. Factory Street Brewing Company is ideal for couples who love beer. Go out for a night on the town and sample some local entertainment and culture. As the cultural centerpiece of the region, The Prizery is perfect for those who love the arts. Acts from across the world have performed at this theatre, with nationwide talent appearing in the annual Summer Stock Theatre and local talent highlighted in performances by Halifax County Little Theatre. Be sure to check their calendar to view upcoming performances. Alternatively, dance the night away with your partner while listening to live music by a local band or DJ.
