Friday Opening Campfire

Welcome to Staunton River State Park! Every Friday during the summer we will gather around the campfire. You’ll get to meet park staff and other campers as we tell campfire stories, sing songs, eat s’mores, and learn how to build the perfect campfire. Do you have a delicious recipe to make the perfect s’more? Bring it over with you and show off your amazing s’more construction skills.

Also, don’t forget to look up and enjoy the beautiful night sky. With Staunton River being an international dark sky park you can see stars and constellations here that you may not see anywhere else.

All materials for s’mores will be provided by the park. There is no fee for this program.
