Southern Virginia Botanical Gardens
Located at Edmunds Park, the Southern Virginia Botanical Gardens (SVBG) were created by the Southside Virginia Master Gardeners to serve as demonstration gardens and promote gardening as a lifestyle. The gardens are a community-driven project, developed with the help of horticultural experts, landscape architects, and forest professionals.
The Arboretum within the gardens focuses on preserving native trees and shrubs, as well as other landscape species suited for the region. The New Virginia Victory Garden showcases the best varieties of vegetables, fruits, and berries for the area.
SVBG also offers beautiful venues for weddings and concerts, including the Front Lawn with a pergola covered in flowering vines and roses, perfect for exchanging vows. The Woodlands Trail features a Native American Medicine Wheel and a 3 Sisters Garden, offering a peaceful and reflective space for visitors.
