Springfield Distillery makes award winning handcrafted whiskey, moonshine, bourbon and more. All spirits are made from local ingredients in Halifax County VA. The distillery is named after Springfield, a historic home on the property that dates back to 1842. This is amplified by its location on River Road, one of Virginia’s scenic byways, which is rich in history and agriculture.

The distillery offers tours of the property, where guests can learn more about the distilling process while tasting Springfield's spirits. Alternatively, guests can sip cocktails in the expansive and rustic tasting room. The drink menu changes monthly, often incorporating fresh produce and seasonal flavors. There are several board games and activities to play while enjoying (or abstaining) from drinks. This woman owned business is truly a family affair - owner Kelly Gordon has proudly led the business since opening it in 2016. She's joined by her sons, one a distiller, the other who focuses on strategy and operations. The recipe originates from founder James Gordon, whose father was a master distiller in South Africa.

The distillery is open on weekends, with their products being found in stores and bars across the state.
