The South Boston-Halifax County Museum of Fine Arts and History provides a place for the collection, preservation, and display of art and historical artifacts pertinent to South Boston, Halifax County, and Southside Virginia. A sample of the museum's permanent exhibits include an interactive map of Halifax County, a Native American artifact gallery, Halifax County's Military History exhibit, and our Country Store display. The most notable exhibit focuses on The Crossing of the Dan.

The museum is also home to a Genealogy and Research Center. Research volunteers are dedicated to tracing your family history or finding out more about Halifax County's heritage. Make sure to come and visit the gift shop and find the perfect memorabilia.
