Kim Leonard tried for many years to draw, taking classes and practicing for uncounted hours, but at best what she created was cartoonish images. After an accident and subsequent brain damage put her in a wheelchair and then a walker, she also gained the ability to draw realistically.

Fortunately, she no longer needs the wheelchair, and now Kim is an award winning artist, having been accepted into numerous juried art shows and selling work nationally, including commissions for individual collectors and displaying pieces featured in galleries around Southern Virginia and North Carolina.

Her portraits of animals and people are created with graphite, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, as well as custom drawings of homes for realtors and homeowners.
